Blai Tonight: just pick, point & enjoy!
This is one of the best places for montaditos in town. Montaditos (aka pinchos) are basically a slice of baguette bread topped with something. Each montadito has a toothpick stuck into it. The toppings could be: salmon, chistorra (sausage), tuna, ham, manchego cheese, goat cheese, omelette, etc…
1 montadito = 1 Euro. Eat better for less! Grab a plate, pick the montaditos you would like to eat, return your toothpicks to be counted, and pay. Looks easy enough, right? They offer the locally brewed Moritz beer, as well as a good selection of wines.
Taberna Blai Tonight is run by Manel & Jaume and a great group of young people, who on top of the great place they already have, opened a second restaurant next door in September 2013. Keep up with the good work!
This place has a special meaning for the three of us: it is the first place where Alberto (⅓ part of BCN Gastronomic Society) took the initiative in organizing weekly meetings back in September 2011, so we started to gather together with our group of friends (you all know who you are 😉 ), meet new ones, and the place for farewell dinners.
